ITV’s new tv show: ‘Food, Glorious Food!’

Have you heard about Simon Cowell’s new ITV project ‘Food, Glorious Food!’?

According to The Guardian: “Cowell’s ITV1 series, ‘Food, Glorious Food!’ will see amateur chefs from across the country compete to produce the winning recipe.” The ‘Food, Glorious Food!’ website says they’re after dishes: “cooked with love by mums, dads, husbands and wives, grannies, families and friends all over Britain”

This TV show sounds like it will shun fancy Masterchef-style dishes with unpronounceable ingredients and instead focus on ‘comfort food’ in an attempt to appeal to a very different audience.

Food, Glorious Food!

Just my kind of TV show! I find the likes of Masterchef inspiring, but not so much that I’d go out and try to replicate the often-complicated dishes. I’d be much more likely to have a go at something a fellow home cook prepared. Non-pretentious and simple.

Take a look at the website for Food, Glorious Food!

What do you think? Is this something you’d apply for? What dish would you compete with?
